About IWES
IWES is the largest and most successful continuing education program for professionals responsible for industry environmental performance in Australia.
Our mission is quite simple. It is to provide high quality short course training for environment industry professionals. Courses are taught by leading industry practitioners and designed to keep busy professionals abreast of the latest trends, technologies and practices.
In 2002, IWES became part of Wastewater Futures Pty Ltd, and Dr Paul Lant became the Director. In 2002, IWES ran one event and had 55 delegates (IWES did not run any events in 2001). Since 2002, IWES has consistently grown, now establishing itself as a leading provider of short courses for environment professionals in Australia. In 2008 and 2009, we ran events in Sydney, Gold Coast, Melbourne and Perth, and we have averaged 660 delegates per annum through 2007-2009.
We are now particularly proud that IWES is the training provider of choice with several large organisations, and we strive to continue to innovate in our course offerings and delivery. In 2009, we introduced several new courses such as Stormwater Treatment Technologies, Climate Change Drivers and Strategic Risk Management and Biosolids Treatment and Management. In 2010 we are launching exciting new courses in Community Engagement for Water Industry Projects, Coal Seam Gas Water Management, Asset Planning, Desalination and Introduction to Coastal Processes and Coastal Engineering.
We look forward to continuing to provide a key service for environment industry professionals.
